Citywest Business Campus

Citywest Business Campus, Dublin 24

Citywest is widely acknowledged as one of the most attractive and strategically located business campuses in Dublin. The scheme now reaps the benefit of the investment in terms of money, time and effort put into extensive landscaping and transport infrastructure in the early days of the development.

Citywest is now home to Ireland’s National Digital Park as well as more than 130 companies focused on cutting edge innovation and technology.

When the 400 acre business campus was first proposed in the 1990’s by developers Davy Hickey Properties, Jones Lang LaSalle were appointed as sole advisors and letting agents for the scheme.

In the early days with the perceived lack of infrastructure the view in the market place was that the Citywest development was extremely ambitious and was located too far from Dublin’s traditional business areas.

One of the main challenges we faced therefore was the branding of the scheme and the subsequent promotion and development of the Citywest name. The first major occupier of the campus was Xilinx, quickly followed by names such as Colgate Palmolive, AOL and SAP, amongst others.

Jones Lang LaSalle continue to act as advisors to Davy Hickey Properties and have let properties to more than 80 companies onsite including a number of global operations such as Adobe, Allied Irish Bank, East BT, Independent News and Media, Pfizer, Roche Pharmaceuticals, Sage, Sanofi Aventis, SAP, Shire Pharmaceuticals and Unilever.

Work is due to commence in the Autumn on the LUAS extension from Tallaght which will bring the LUAS line into the heart of Citywest making the location easily accessible particularly from occupiers in the IFSC. This is supported by the recent opening of the Citywest Shopping Centre and both of these further enhance Citywest in terms of public transport and onsite amenities.

Construction has now begun on a major office development on one of the most high profile sites fronting onto the Naas Road which will ultimately provide an additional 35,000 m2 of office accommodation. Jones Lang LaSalle will shortly commence marketing of the first 2 buildings within this development further reinforcing Citywest as a location of choice for both local and international occupiers.
